How electrical facial treatments can help your skin
Electrical facial treatments take professional facials to the deeper layers of skin.
There is a wide range of electrical facial treatments to choose from and after a thorough in-depth consultation, your Dermalogica Skincare Therapist will prescribe an advanced bespoke facial for you to ensure that your skin gets the best treatment possible.
Electrical facial treatments can benefit the skin by:
- Improving the way the skin functions and it’s general appearance.
- Stimulating cellular activity in the skin.
- Improving the tone, functioning and appearance of facial muscles so that the face appears more youthful.
- Relaxing facial tissues.
- Stimulating blood circulation, cell reproduction, growth and repair.
- Enabling deeper penetration of cleansers to decongest and clear the skin.
- Allowing the therapist to feed beneficial ingredients into the deeper layers of skin such as collagen and hyaluronic acid to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles or to clear problem skin.

High Frequency – Antibacterial and Skin Tightening Treatment
High frequency is great for acne, blemished and congested skin, but is also good for mature or aging skin as a it has a tightening effect on the skin so can be used as an anti-aging treatment.
High frequency uses a specialised oxidising cream, which kills bacteria so is very effective on acne prone skin yet it is gentle enough for hyper sensitive skin. It is ideal to help improve the condition of oily areas such as the T-zone on the face, or blemished skin on the back. It also improves the skin texture.
Galvanic
There are 2 types of galvanic facials that are often used in conjunction with each other for optimum results:
Desincrustation – Deep Exfoliation Treatment
Used for deep cleansing of the skin, as the deeper layers of the skin are penetrated by the use of galvanic desincrustation gels. This helps to open pores and unblock them by removing sebum and exfoliating away surface debris and dead skin cells.
Galvanic Iontophoresis – Deep Feeding Treatment
Used for deep feeding of beneficial and specialised ingredients into the skin, using specialised Iontophoresis gels that penetrate deeper layers of skin, these special ingredients in gels aid in detoxifying and decongesting the skin. A variety of ingredients are used such as aloe, vitamin E for wrinkle prevention and seaweed or mint extracts for oily skins.
Micro current
Micro current is often referred to as a ‘Non-surgical face lift’. The treatment that is designed to soften fine lines and wrinkles therefore balancing and lifting the contours of the face. The treatment is best delivered over a course of 10-12 treatments and exercises your muscles with little or no sensation felt. It also increases circulation and all the natural processes are speeded up. This gives healthier cells in the skin and muscles producing a tighter contour and improved complexion. Once the course of treatments is complete a maintenance programme would be followed to hold the effect achieved, (ie; a monthly facial). These facials have shown amazing results in the last 10 years and are now more sophisticated than ever. Important Note: These electrical facial treatments are not suitable for pregnant clients, clients with history of heart disease / disorders, pace makers, metal implants in body, history of migraines, epilepsy, complications of nervous disorders. A full consultation will be required to assess suitability for treatment.
Vacuum Suction or Lymphatic Drainage
Vacuum suction is ideal for sluggish skin, dark circles and bags or puffiness under the eyes. Vacuum suction improves the lymphatic drainage of facial skin and removes the build-up of toxins in the skin improving blood circulation, bringing fresh nutrients and oxygenated fresh blood to skin ultimately improving the appearance of the skin resulting in giving skin a youthful rosy glow.
Microdermabrasion
Microdermabrasion gently removes dead skin cells stimulating the generation of new skin cells and collagen. The results are reduced pigmentation, brighter skin as well as increased hydration and plumped fine lines and wrinkles.
